Why I decided to rebuild my website AND all my online courses…

only a year after setting up the programs and spending $4k on it.

Yes, I know you’re thinking — this sounds like madness, procrastination, completely unnecessary work that’s using time I could have spent taking on some new clients and injecting more revenue IN.

Many of you have experienced my online academy site, where I host my masterclasses and programs like Business JAM and The Momentum Club.

It’s a full-featured WordPress solution for both courses and memberships that I selected after many months of deliberation…

….because it fit with my website, I can use the same theme and it came with checkout functionality so I could use it for payment processing for ALL my programs including 1:1 coaching.

It seemed perfect, and being slightly cheaper than the market leader, it seemed a good choice.

BUT.

While there were benefits of being able to put any sort of content I wanted into the course pages and structure it exactly how I wanted, it also meant I had to build my own layouts for course pages, checkout pages, add code for everything, including page navigation, AND it didn’t come with course progress tracking on the standard level.

The turning point came during my last launch.

I was promoting my Niche masterclass and somebody messaged me to say the checkout page took 4 minutes to load!

OMG Disaster! How many people didn’t buy simply because they couldn’t?????

Doing what I could to speed up my site with extra server capacity and some backend optimisation, still didn’t solve the problem very well.

The thing is — having an online business means that the performance of my website and payment pages is CRITICAL! They have to be fast loading, easy to navigate, and friendly on mobile.

My Wordpress website had also been a constant source of tech headaches. From spammers hitting online forms, to captchas that suddenly disappear, plugins stopping working at random, and the constant stream of updates required…. I guess you could say I’d had an eyeful of it and was ready to be wooed by something new.

And that’s when it happened.

Who should come back into my world but Kajabi!

In desperation I tried it out and set up some checkout pages. They loaded instantly. They worked and they look good.

It’s templated and easy to set up courses, programs, memberships AND even can be a host for a podcast with their audio courses feature.

It doubles as a video streaming service — goodbye to expensive Vimeo fees!

Plus, for me, the customer experience is A1. I’m a customer of many Kajabi courses and I love being able to access the programs on the iphone app, so I can listen to lessons while I’m running, driving or otherwise occupied.

And, as a major bonus, the Kajabi support is INCREDIBLE! They have created 6 OVO pipeline templates — opt-in, value, offer — which you can pick up and implement so quickly! These are funnels for things like freebies, webinars, ebooks.. all pre-created including emails!

I’m now in the midst of a massive clean up and cull of my burdensome WordPress site, while I move to a clean, fresh and FAST Kajabi site.

I can’t wait to cancel some of my other software subscriptions, hosting plan and simplify my tech.

I wish I had just taken the leap with Kajabi in the first place, but now here I am, $4k wiser and looking forward without feeling stuck by my past decisions.

Although it seemed expensive, it takes away the need for so many other systems… and they all add up!

To figure out if the investment was worth it, all I needed to do was calculate how many sign ups I would need to cover the monthly fee.

Not many it turns out!

Want to have a look for yourself, or take it for a free test drive?

I highly recommend doing the trial and seeing for yourself what simplified tech feels like.

p.s. full disclosure — this is a partner link, however I would not be sharing it if I wasn’t FULLY invested in this solution, using it and loving it myself.
